Privacy Policy

Information We Collect

We collect information directly from you when you use the following features:

• Listing submissions — when you submit a pizza shop through our Submit a Pizza Place form, we collect the restaurant details you provide (name, city, state, website, phone number, etc.) along with your name and email address so we can follow up if needed.
• Suggested edits — when you suggest a correction on a listing page, we collect your message and, optionally, your email address.
• Contact form submissions — when you use our Contact page, we collect your name, email, optional business name, subject, and message.
• Analytics data — we use Google Analytics, which automatically collects standard usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location (city/region level), device and browser type, and how you arrived at our site. This is described further below and in our Cookie Policy.

We do not require you to create an account to use Northeast Pizza Guide, and we do not currently process any payments on the site.

How Information Is Used

• To review and, where appropriate, publish listing submissions and suggested edits.
• To respond to messages sent through our contact form.
• To understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it (via aggregated analytics).
• To detect and prevent spam or abusive submissions.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your email address for marketing unless you separately opt in to something that says otherwise.

Third-Party Services

We rely on a small number of third-party services to run the site:

• Google Analytics — for site traffic and usage analytics. Google's use of data is governed by their own privacy policy.
• Google Maps — listing pages may embed a Google Maps view to show a restaurant's location; loading this embed may set cookies controlled by Google.
• Resend — the email delivery service we use to send contact form and listing-related notifications.

These providers may process limited data (such as your IP address) as part of delivering their service to us. We don't control, and aren't responsible for, their independent data practices.

Data Retention

We retain listing submissions, suggested edits, and contact form messages for as long as reasonably necessary to review them, respond to you, and maintain accurate records of the directory. You can ask us to delete personal information you've submitted by contacting us — see below.

Your Choices & Rights

You can ask us at any time to access, correct, or delete personal information you've submitted to us (for example, an email address left on a submission or contact form). We'll do our best to honor reasonable requests. You can also opt out of Google Analytics tracking using your browser settings or a browser extension such as Google's Analytics opt-out add-on.

Children's Privacy

Northeast Pizza Guide is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll remove it.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information you share with us, but no method of storage or transmission over the internet is completely secure. We can't guarantee absolute security of your data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves — for example, if we add new features that collect additional information. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
