Regina Pizzeria's Medford location continues a family legacy stretching back to 1926, when the original North End location earned its claim as Boston's original pizzeria. The brick oven operation here follows the Polcari family's century-old crust recipe, which relies on natural yeast and extended aging. The thin-crust pies arrive with a spicy, lightly-seasoned sauce touched with aged romano and topped with aged whole milk mozzarella. Seasonally, they offer a Caprese pizza built on that signature dough with fresh heirloom tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, garlic sauce, balsamic glaze, and basil. TripAdvisor ranked Regina #1 among U.S. pizzerias, and their website notes they've been called the official pizza of the Boston Red Sox.
