Zuppardi's has been a West Haven fixture since 1934, when Dominic Zuppardi, a bread baker by trade, began making apizza; the family took the Zuppardi's Apizza name in 1947. Pies are still assembled by hand and baked in the shop's long-seasoned brick oven.
