Deacon Blues Restaurant opened in July 1979 in Watervliet, New York, owned by Ron and Helen Wilkinson. Originally called the Welcome Inn, it started as a small community restaurant with working class clientele and family staff, and has since developed to include catering services on premise and at other locations.
