Cape Cod Cafe in Bridgewater serves bar pizza made according to a recipe developed in 1939, when the style emerged in Brockton as food for factory workers. Their pizza is made in a ten-inch pan with thin, freshly proofed dough, homemade oregano-based sauce, and a blend of cheddar cheeses, then baked in a deck oven. The recipe has remained largely unchanged since Papa Jamoulis purchased the original location in Brockton after World War II and spent years perfecting it. The Bridgewater location is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
