BAR occupies a former automobile showroom on Crown Street and doubles as Connecticut's oldest brewpub, pouring its own beer alongside the pizza. Pies are cracker-thin and come out of a custom gas-fired brick oven; the one people cross town for is the mashed potato and bacon, spread over garlic and parmesan instead of sauce.
